Dr. Horrible

Joss Whedon (AKA God) has joined in on the web show community, except his will only last a few days until we have to pay to  see it. Sigh. This sounds so good though, superheroes, mad scientists and comedy. I highly doubt this will suck.

Go now, watch, promote, laugh.

Bones

I know that Bones (a criminal investigation show starring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel) has run for 3 seasons now, but I a little slow on the up take. I have only recently started watching CSI and thats run for 8 seasons! Anyway, after I got used to seeing Boreanaz play a character that was anything other than a broody vamp – I really started to like this show.

“A cynical and lonely forensic anthropologist and a cocky FBI agent partner up to solve long-ago murders.” -imdb.com

Throw in the squint squad, sarcastic one liners and dead pan humour and we have my kind of show! Bones isn’t for the faint of heart (or pregnant women) but if you can move past the bones and look at the characters; Dr Brennan seemingly unemotional yet probably the most heartbroken character. Booth the cocky agent with great people skills. Hodgens the wannabe rebel with a desire to fit in. Zack with his lack of social skills but huge IQ. And Angela the unwitting artist, who often says what the audience is thinking. Plus, a lot of guest stars, character bonding and mystery, I don’t know how anyone can get bored of this show!

I give it 4 <3’s but only because some of the characters remind me too much of myself to give it an unbiased 5…

Sex In The City

I (finally) saw Sex In The City The Movie last night! The movie stays true to the show – just about. There was the Carrie/Big trouble in paradise, Samantha’s too the point humour, Miranda’s feminism and Charlotte’s Stepford Wifeyness.

However, there was no sex, no sex talk unless you count that ‘colouring in the lines’ thing. Which I don’t. The sex in the city girls have grown up, settled down and suffer from lesbian bed death.  The ‘naughtiest’ joke was Charlotte (literally) crapping her pants, I don’t remember that sort of slapstick comedy in the show… Also, am I the only one bored of the Carrie/Big merry-go-round now?

The movie was sweet with a huge emphasis on friendship. The girls (sorry, ladies) rallied round during the wedding, cheating and fun times.

Overall, a cute, funny sendoff for the great show, but not ground breaking.

3 <3’s
